WATCH: Former Texas A&M Player Turned Student Assistant Coach Cheap Shots Two West Virginia Players

Texas A&M may have won the Liberty Bowl, but Kevin Sumlin is still probably walking away with a bad taste in his mouth. Not because of anything the players did on the field. Kyle Allen did a solid job as did the rest of the offense and the defense was better than it has been. It's because of a former player turned student assistant coach, Michael Richardson.

What did he do? Twice he threw some kind of cheap shot on a West Virginia player going out of bounds.

In one incident he shoves running back Andrew Buie and in the other he whacks defensive back Daryl Worley in the back of the head. Unacceptable.

Both incidents occured in the second quarter. When Sumlin found out about them he ordered Richardson to remain in the locker room. He has since sent him home. All he will say for now is that the situation will be dealt with when they get back to College Station.

Richardson played some linebacker as a true freshman back in 2012, but a neck injury cut his career short. As much as Sumlin may feel for the kid there is no way he can keep on staff after this.
