The Liberty Bowl between Texas A&M and West Virginia ended up being a rather chippy game with way too many late hits--especially from a person not even playing the game--that had everyone on edge throughout the game. Nothing ever got out of hand on the field, but after one altercation West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White felt especially agitated.
So when he heard something from the stands he didn't like he decided to make that person's night and respond.
