For some odd reason Aikman has decided after nearly two decades to respond to allegations Skip Bayless made in a 1996 book about the Dallas Cowboys that Aikman is gay.

This is what Troy had to say in a SI interview:
“I’m upset about it because it was made up and there was nothing accurate about anything that was insinuated. And he did it, as he does everything, just for attention. I am probably more upset because I probably should have responded to it at the time it was going on. The advice to me was “Hey, just don’t address it. It’s not worth it. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s ridiculous. All it’s going to do is have people continue to talk about his book.” So I didn’t.”
“But I probably could have responded differently and maybe that would have changed things. Maybe it wouldn’t have. But it is ridiculous, and, yeah, it bothers me. If that is a lifestyle people choose, so be it. It doesn’t affect me one way or another. But it is not my lifestyle.”I can recall reading the book back when it was published. If memory serves Aikman was not one to date much in his playing days because of the time he devoted to his profession. He knew he couldn't give a relationship the attention it deserved as long as he was playing so he stayed out of them.
Troy--what they told you back then was right. Trolls like Bayless should not be on the air and need to be ignored. That being said, this was nearly two decades ago man.
Let it go.

Harry Carson in my eyes was one of the parts of the sum in that great "Wrecking Crew" defense of the Giants Parcell's Giant era. Lawrence Taylor deservedly got all the pub but lets not forget that Brian Kelly and Brad van Pelt were both excellent linebackers and Jim Burt and Leonard Marshall vastly underrated defensive linemen.More information Where Troy Aikman was a QB
