How Can Urban Meyer Open the Quarterback Competition Up After This?

In the days leading up to the National Championship  Game there was a lot of speculation as to what the future holds for Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller. With the emergence of freshman J.T. Barrett logic would say he should transfer. Instead Urban Meyer has said he expects Miller to be back and that there would be a competition at quarterback in the spring.

After watching Cardale Jones lead his team to a national championship how on Earth could he possibly do that?

Miller certainly deserves the spot and is more than capable of starting and playing well. Barrett proved that he too is capable and also deserving after the year he had--but than there is Jones. He has the least amount of actual game time among the three, but he led the team to victory in the Big 10 Championship, Sugar Bowl, and now the first National Championship Game.

It is impossible for a quarterback to be more battle tested than that!

Some will argue that Jones had the benefit of Ezekiel Elliot going nuts and running for over 200 yards in all three games. Yes, that did play a huge factor in the team's success, but Jones also played well.

Meyer has said the right thing by claiming that the competition is open, but if he sits Jones after this fans might want to call his doctor and get him checked out because something will have to be wrong with him.
