Harry Douglas is a good wide receiver. He has done well over the course of his career with the Falcons. He has not always been a statistical giant and is the No. 3 wide receiver in Atlanta, but he's been a reliable one that has been able to step in and perform when Roddy White or Julio Jones have been out with injuries. Going forward though it appears that the Falcons are going to be looking elsewhere for their No. 3 wide receiver.
They have released Harry Douglas.

With a number of good wide receivers in the draft and Roddy White not getting any younger it would not be surprising to see the Falcons go after a wide receiver in the middle rounds of the draft; someone they can groom to take a longer role once White retires.
For now, the move saves the team $3.5 million which they will need if they are going to lure Justin Forsett away from Baltimore.
