USA 7s Team Finishes Fourth at Vegas Rugby Tournament; Best Finish Since 2010 [VIDEO]

When it comes to rugby the competition in the world is pretty tough. It's not like taking the best players out of the NBA and playing against the rest of the world in the Olympics or something. The U.S. is goood at playing rugby, but there are many other nations that treat it like we treat football. So yes--they are better.

After a solid opening to the tournament with two wins on Friday and a win and a tie on Saturday, the competition was a lot tougher for the U.S. team on Sunday.

New Zealand simply outplayed the U.S. 26-12 to send the Eagles to the third place match against South Africa. When you play a team as good as South Africa is you can not afford to have many or really any mistakes--but the team did. The Eagles were not able to overcome a slew of bad passes and ended up losing the third place match 31-0.

While it was not the way the team wanted to finish the tournament it was the first time they had played in a third-place match in a 7s tournament and the best finish the team has had since 2010.
