Arizona Cardinals DB Tyrann Mathieu Takes a Stand Against Internet Bullying

There was some doubt about Tyrann Mathieu when he entered the NFL with how his college career came to an end, but he has proven to be a talented player and a valuable one to the Arizona Cardinals. Recently he was awarded the Ed Block Courage Award; something that is given to a player from each team “who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage.”

As part of the award Mathieu is to act as an “Ambassador of Courage for victims of abuse, violence and neglect.”

He has wasted no time in doing just that by speaking out against something that at one time or another plagues every athlete--the internet troll:


Lots of people are victims of internet bullying everyday so his message is definitely topical. It's just a shame that so many people take the anonymity that comes with the internet to say mean and hateful things that they would never say in person.
