Houston Texans Tip Their Draft Plans When They Told Andre Johnson He's No Longer a Starter?

It's a sad time for fans of the Houston Texans. They are having to say goodbye to one of the team's veteran players, wide receiver Andre Johnson. After being told that he should not expect 40 catches next season he laughed off the notion and said he wants out. The team gave him permission to seek a trade, but Johnson has since gone back and told them to just release him.

So--any guesses as to what the team is going to target in the first round of the draft?

By telling Johnson that he was not going to start the team has to be looking at picking a wide receiver early in the draft, DeAndre Hopkins and Johnson were by far the top two targets last season and if Johnson is not going to be the No. 2 the team is going to have to draft one. No one on the roster is likely going to be able to step up and fill the void.

Most would say the team still needs to target a quarterback, but more than likely they are going to go with a wide receiver. Chances are high that the team resigns Ryan Mallett and he gets a shot to earn the starter's job next season, but he is going to have a hard time doing so without a good second option in the passing game.

Kevin White, Amari Cooper, and Devante Parker are considered the top three choices, but the team would do fine if it went with Jaelen Strong, Dorial Green-Beckham, Breshad Perriman, or Sammie Coates who are also considered first round/early second round talent.
