DeMarco Murray's departure has caused a lot of commotion in Dallas. What's the team going to do for a running game now? What the heck was Jones thinking letting him go? Darren McFadden? Really? It's caused so much that a very important part of the Cowboys off-season has been temporarily forgotten about.
Dez Bryant's contract.

The Cowboys did place the franchise tag on Bryant which would put him under contract for next season earning $12.8 million, but he has yet to sign it. It's not that he doesn't want to or anything. He could be holding off in hopes that a long term deal could be reached, but signing the tender doesn't have any adverse affect on further negotiations.
Not signing it does mean that he can skip any and all off-season workouts. However, when the team does hold OTA's in April Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects his superstar to be there:
“I’m not worried about that at all, and it’s because of how much he loves the game, how much he knows that preparation, practice, all of that improves him,” owner Jerry Jones said in this Star-Telegram story.
The Cowboys have till July 15 to sign a deal with Bryant otherwise he will play out the next season and become an unrestricted free agent again.
