Every season there is a big discussion in the media and among fans about whether the best college team in the land could beat the worst professional team in the land. This season the best college team in the land is clearly the Kentucky Wildcats. After securing an undefeated regular season with a 67-50 win over Florida Kentucky head coach John Calipari was asked about the bracket.
His response was pretty funny, but it may not make Lakers fans very happy.

So Coach--you saying your team could handle the Lakers? There are probably not too many that would argue against that.
Kind of funny. He's making a joke that I'm sure will get blown out of proportion. The Cats are good, but I'm not sure they could beat any NBA team. He's sure got enough NBA prospects on his squad though.
ReplyDeleteI dont think he was 'trolling' the Lakers. (a term that gets overused these days). He wasn't really even commenting on the Lakers being bad at basketball, but the selection committee's tendency to run good teams through the gauntlet.
