Reggie Bush Joining Carlos Hyde in the San Francisco 49ers Backfield

Reggie Bush will have had a good career when his time in the NFL is all said and done, but he will be the closest thing to a successful bust that the league has ever seen. He's played well at times, but he has come nowhere close to matching the hype that was on the former Heisman winner when he came out of college.

To be fair he did have a couple of decent seasons in Miami and his first in Detroit wasn't bad either, but not good enough to keep him after a poor second season. So they cut him loose. A player with his explosive potential is not going to spend much time on the market though, and it appears like he is off of it.

Bush has signed on with the San Francisco 49ers. He should be used to compliment Carlos Hyde in the backfield and give the 49ers a nice change of pace from time to time. He has been a very dangerous receiving threat out of the backfield at times and it would not be surprising if the passing game end up being where he sees the bulk of his touches.

Contract numbers have not been made public yet, but he did not likely cost the 49ers much since he is an older running back with a history of injuries.
