Blind Long Snapper Jake Olson Walking On At USC [VIDEO]

We here a lot of bad stuff all the time in the news about college football programs and players. It seems that almost every time you turn on your computer someone is getting arrested for something. Everyone loves controversy, but it would sure be nice to cheer for something every once in a while.

So when there is a heart warming story that is going to bring tears to your eyes--like blind long snapper Jake Olson walking on at USC--it deserves to be covered.

The story is as heartbreaking as they come. Lost one eye to cancer by time he was one. He and his family fought to keep his remaining eye, but cancer won the battle for that one as well. Before he had the surgery that was going to take it he wanted to do one thing--see one last USC game and go to practice.

Take the time to watch this video, but be sure no other dudes are around and have a tissue or two on hand. You will cry a little.

Five years after losing his sight he is set to become a freshman at USC and will be a walk-on with the football team. This is something Trojans head coach Steve Sarkisian could do because it makes for great press, but from what the internet says Jake is pretty good long snapper so it is not unreasonable to see him play.

According to Sarkisian he will.
“Someday, he’s going to snap in a game for us,” the head coach said. “When? I don’t know. But it will happen.
“When that day comes, it will be awesome.”
Yes, it will be Coach. Yes it will.
