Denver Broncos DL DeMarcus Ware Stiffs Waiter on Tip For Saying "Go Skins" [UPDATE]

Normally whenever we hear about Denver Broncos sack master DEMarcus Ware it is because the veteran defensive end has crushed some poor quarterback, but that is not the case this time. No, this time we are hearing about him because he stiffed a working man--his waiter--when it  came time to tip the man. Was it because of bad service? Nope.

It was because the waiter said "Go Skins."

via Twitter
Ware tweeted a picture of his receipt with the tip "Go Broncos" on it:

Is DeMarcus being a little sensitive about the comment? Denver doesn't really have a rivalry with the Redskins, but his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, certainly did. Leaving Dallas does not mean he is going to stop disliking the Redskins.

So what? Waiters work for tips. His server counts on the kindness of strangers to leave tips so he can pay his bills.

The waiter forgot the first rule of waiting tables though--never, never, never say anything the customer will not like. Do not do or say anything that will make them not like you because they do not have to tip you.

So in this case I don't blame Ware one bit for stiffing him. The waiter should have never said it, joking or not.

[UPDATE]

Apparently it was a joke:

Had he stiffed him I can't say I blame him. Tipping is not an obligation. It has to be earned and that means more than just taking the order and serving it. You don't do or say anything the customer may be offended by either. Still a dumb move by the waiter.
