Homeless Former Player Camps Out in Front of Falcons Training Facility Hoping For Another Chance

Last season former Kentucky nose tackle Donte Rumph had the displeasure of earning the nickname of "Cupcake" during training camp with the Atlanta Falcons. As much as he hated the nickname he likely hated getting cut from the team and dumped by his agent even more. From there he fell on some hard times, and with off-season activities cranking up he is homeless and camping out.

He's not just camping out anywhere though and he's not alone. He is camping out in a park across from the Falcons training facility with his fiance.

Why there? He's hoping his former team will give him another chance.

"My grandmother always told me if you want something you've got to claim it," Rumph said. "This is me reclaiming my position with the Falcons."

Most guys would just keep calling and calling until the team agreed to give him another tryout, but I suppose it is a lot harder to ignore someone that is living right across the street than a phone call. So kudos to his perseverance and dedication to his craft.

Rumph says he is actually homeless and not just trying to get another chance. While he was hoping to get it from Atlanta it appears that he is going to get one from someone. The New York Jets are going to fly him out to mini-camp for a tryout.
