Jameis Winston's Own Lawyer Thinks He's Too Immature for the NFL

Jameis Winston can be a lot of fun to watch play football. A Heisman trophy and national championship are proof enough of that. The talent that he has shown on the field has been enough to convince the masses that he should be the No. 1 pick in the coming draft. The only question mark has been whether he will be able to handle the spotlight. Many have questioned whether he will be mature enough to handle it.

His own lawyer is one such person.

While at Villanova’s Moorad Sports Law symposium Winston's lawyer, David Cornwell, talked about his client and it wasn't exactly flattering:

So--he knows he's immature?

Cornwell said visit to NFL office was Winston's idea. Said Goodell wants Winston to aspire for W. Payton award. Expects Winston to go No. 1

Umm...okay.

Context of Cornwell's comments was that Winston is not 1st college player to show immaturity. Understands and embraces opportunity ahead.

I'm sure Ryan Leaf did too, but we all know how that turned out.

Winston did a lot of really stupid things in college, not unlike most college students. Unlike most college students, he had a spotlight on him that made every idiotic thing he did national news.

So--is he anymore immature than the typical college student? Who knows, but if he is going to make the most of this opportunity he is going to have to get it together
