Paul McCartney Talked Football With Peyton Manning During Filming of SNL 40th Anniversary

They are both legends; one a music legend and the other a gridiron one. There paths do not exactly cross much, but they did during the filming of the 40th Anniversary SNL special. While making an appearance on a local radio show in Nashville Peyton talked about meeting the music legend, inviting him to sing the National Anthem at a Broncos game, and about Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Blaine Bortles.

Yes, I said Blaine.

Here is what Peyton had to say:
"I’m thinking there’s no way a Beatle knows anything about NFL or Broncos or whatever and it turns out his wife [Nancy Shevell] has a 20-year-old son who’s a die-hard Jaguars fan and wants to know how the Jaguars are going to be this year, how Blaine Bortles is going to be. Is Julius Thomas going to be good for the Jaguars?
"It’s just that power of football that connects all people so you can have a conversation. So I told Paul he’s got an open invitation to sing the anthem at a Broncos game. I can probably slide him in."
Call it a hunch, but I think if Paul McCartney wanted to sing the National Anthem somewhere he would not need anyone's help getting his foot in the door--but it sure is nice of Peyton to offer to help.
