I saw two things in this fight that I can't recall seeing inside the Octagon too much, and both are pretty darn impressive. First--the fetal defense actually worked! I can't recall seeing anyone ever get taken down, get pummeled by his opponent, get fetal to protect himself from the blows, and actually get up to continue the fight--but Campbell managed to do just that after the first take down.
I also can't recall seeing someone let someone get up off the mat like Makdessi allowed Campbell to do towards the end. Most guys would have pounced, pummeled him senseless, turned Campbell in to a mess, and ended it there. Instead, Makdessi let him stand up and he pummeled after another take down.
