Will St. Louis Be Putting Zac Stacy on the Trading Block?

The St. Louis Rams appeared to have a steal in former Vanderbilt running back Zac Stacy a couple years ago. Then they went ahead and drafted former Auburn bruiser Tre Mason in the third round last year. Sure enough--Mason took his job and looked every bit like the running back of the future should look like.

So since the Rams went ahead and picked former Georgia running back Todd Gurley with the No. 10 pick does that mean someone should be scared they are going to lose their job?

For a time it was apparent that Zac Stacy was. After the Rams pick was announced he tweeted this (and has since deleted it):

As we would say in college--if you're scared say you're scared. Apparently Stacy is. Mason? Not so much:

The Rams could put him on the block this year and could get as much as a 5th round pick for him. He was good when he played, but not great. So it would not be shocking to see him find a new home before the draft concludes on Saturday.

A trade may not happen now, but when the season starts and someone loses their premier running back to a season ending injury he would be a great replacement.

On the other hand, if the Rams decided to keep him as insurance for themselves he is only making $585K next season (so he is not going to cost them much to hold on to him).
