Former FSU Head Coach Bobby Bowden Admits to Avoiding the SEC Because it Was Too Tough

Bobby Bowden had a heck of a career as head coach of the Florida State Seminoles. When people think of Florida State football coaches they may think of Jimbo Fisher first now, but thoughts of Bowden will not be far behind. So when he talks about the Seminoles people are going to listen.

Now if only he was saying things that actually helped the university.

In an interview with Paul Finebaum Tuesday Bowden blasted Jameis Winston by calling him an embarrassment to Florida State; strong words about a guy that led the team to a national championship and won the Heisman. That wasn't the end of it though.

He admitted that Florida State was scared of the SEC:

He didn't flat out say that anyone was scared, but in a roundabout way he did by admitting they took the easy route to success by joining the ACC.

I get it. He's just being honest, but comments like this can't sit well with the FSU fan base and it certainly doesn't paint a good picture of the school.
