Four-Star Offensive Lineman Chooses Ohio State Over Michigan and Michigan State Because of Academics

Here's something you don't hear everyday. A four star offensive tackle that plays high school football in Michigan by the name of Michael Jordan has decided to take his 6'6" 285 pound frame to Ohio State to play football rather than in-state power houses Michigan or Michigan State. The fact that Ohio State has poached a recruit from its rivals home turf is not the shocking part though.

It's the reason why he choose Ohio State--academics.

This is what the young man had to say about his choice in schools:
"Ohio State's a great school, and I committed there because of academics," Jordan told Mark Snyder of Freep.com today. "I wanted to major in international business and minor in Chinese, and Ohio State has both of those," he added.
Sounds like he will probably play all four years as well.

This is not to say that it's surprising Ohio State has good academics, but it is not often you hear about a football player being more concerned about the degree plans being offered rather than the level of competition, bowl games, and NFL potential.
