Local Philadelphia Sporting Goods Stores Offering Eagles Fans Insurance on Jersey Purchases

Chip Kelly has made it hard for Philadelphia Eagles fans to feel good about going out and buying a new jersey of one of the team's star players. Kelly has gone trade crazy of late and has proven that no one is safe. Rumors have flown around that newly acquired quarterback Sam Bradford may not be in Philly for long and will soon be traded.

As a result, some stores haven't even been stocking much merchandise featuring new players to avoid getting stuck with it after Chip Kelly trades him away. However, one local sporting goods store has a solution--insurance.

Yes, jersey insurance. It's not your typical insurance policy though. You will not be paying a monthly premium so that you can cover your losses should a player get cut or traded. Instead what Schuylkill Valley Sports' is offering at their 18 locations is this:

For $10 fans that buy a jersey of a player that is cut or traded within 18 months of the time of purchase will be able to bring in their receipt to get half off of the jersey of their choice. So not only will you have the old jersey still, but you can get another one at a semi-affordable price.

The deal does not include retired or injured players.

If you are going to spend $100-150 on a jersey why not get the insurance. Yeah, having a Tebow jersey would be cool, but when he doesn't make the final cut wouldn't be great to be able to go back and get a Sam Bradford one for half off?
