NFL to Play Double Header in New Zealand (sort of)

The NFL has been doing what it can to take the game global. That is why there have been games in London the last few years and why some have been played in Mexico in the past. There has been talk of other global endeavors, but no one really wants that kind of disruption on even their preseason schedule.

It appears that the league has finally figured out how to bring the NFL to other countries and not disrupt any of the teams. As easy as it is to bash Goodell and company this idea is pretty brilliant.

Details are expected to be announced sometime in the near future, but it appears that the NFL is going to be playing a pair of games in New Zealand, a land known for its love of rugby. One game will take place at Eden Park in Auckland and the other at Wellington Regional Stadium.

How they are going to pull it off is where it gets interesting.

Once the final roster cuts are made for six different NFL teams--including the Cowboys, Cardinals, and 49ers--two high profile coaches (who have yet to be announced) are going to select enough players to fill out a roster. That roster is expected to be announced by the end of September.

Exactly when this game will be played has not been announced yet, but there is going to be a press conference held at Eden Park on Wednesday. Maybe we will find out more details than.
