San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick Makes Joke About Floods in Houston; Fans React

It has not been a great off-season for the San Francisco 49ers. Team leader and quarterback Colin Kaepernick did not make it any better today when he decided to try and trash talk Houston Texans fans by making fun of the hardship people were suffering because of the dangerous flood waters.

Thanks to severe floods eight people have been confirmed dead and another 13 are missing. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that is not something you make fun of.

Kaepernick was obviously not informed of the seriousness of the floods, but that is no excuse. With the picture he used in his now deleted Instagram post he had to have done at least a cursory search online. It wouldn't have been hard to read the article he took the picture from; easier than reading defenses at least.

Actually--he didn't need to read anything. He should have just looked at the picture he posted and exercised a little common sense.

The caption reads: "I warned you the #7tormscoming."

He did delete the post after a couple minutes and offered up a lame apology on his Twitter account:

That didn't matter to the fans though. They were going to rip him anyway (like he deserved):

Someone must have told him that people have died and thousands were without power because he eventually posted a better apology.

Think before you post people. Think before you post.

The 49ers and Texans play in the preseason on August 15. While it is only preseason the Texans will be a little more eager to win this one than the average preseason contest.
