It was a good night for the Texas Rangers and especially third baseman Adrian Beltre Monday night. The team beat the Kansas City Royals 8-2 to improve to 14-18 on the season, four games behind the division leading Houston Astros (yes, I said division leading Astros). For Beltre the night meant a little bit more.
In the fourth inning he hit home run No. 399 of his career, a two-run shot that gave the Rangers a 6-1 lead. Of course, since it was a milestone home run they had to celebrate in the one way Beltre hates most--rubbing his head.
