WATCH: Chicago Cubs Pitcher Jon Lester Finally Records First MLB Hit

Chicago Cubs  starting pitcher JOn Lester has been in the big leagues for nine years. He has started in 268 regular season games--and somehow he managed to never get a single hit until Monday night against the St. Louis Cardinals.

To be fair, he has played in the American league most of his career so he has not exactly had too many opportunities at the plate. This season is actually his first in the National League--but he has had 16 full games to get a hit. Apparently he just needed one more game to get it.

So after starting the season 0-66 he connected for an infield single to break the streak. Okay so it wasn't a pretty hit, bit so what? It was still a hit.
