From the way things look in camp it could very well be Gavin Escobar.

When he was taken in the second round in 2013 the general consensus among fans and analysts was why. The Cowboys didn't need a tight end with Jason Witten in his prime and playing well, and they certainly had other needs that could have been covered with that pick.
Two years in to his career he has not done much statistically. He has only caught 18 balls for 239 yards and six touchdowns. Playing behind Witten he is not going to get a ton of opportunities, but if he is going to be retained after the 2016 season he is going to need to step it up (with whatever opportunities he gets).
From the look of some of the catches he has been making in camp it looks like he might be ready to explode given a chance. Will he get it? Who knows, but it certainly looks like if he does he'll be fun to watch.
