WATCH: Bryce Petty Playing Like Any Other New York Jets Quarterback

The injury to Geno Smith has opened a door for rookie quarterback Bryce Petty. The former Baylor gunslinger will have the chance to play and show what he is capable of throughout the preseason. Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to be the man going forward, but if he can shine the team will probably be glad to sit Fitzpatrick and his beard.

His first chance came Thursday night against the Detroit Lions.

He ended up going 10-18 for 50 yards on the night looking nothing like the confident gunslinger he was in college. Better luck next week Bryce!
