Five years later and he has nearly become an after thought thanks to declining production, an over-inflated ego thanks to his one big season, and a mouth that wouldn't stop. He's now out of work at the age of 29, but there is an offer on the table from a potential Super Bowl contender.

You would think by now that he must have realized that there is not a lot of interest in him. Teams are not interested in a player who is now average at best and likes to throw his teammates and coaches under the bus whenever something doesn't go his way. However, with injuries taking their toll on the roster the Arizona Cardinals are willing to kick the tires and see if there is still any magic left in CJ2K.
If there is anyone that could use a running back and possibly control his attitude Arizona head coach Bruce Arians fits the bill. He will not be asked to carry the team (which is good because he can't anymore), but given the right scheme and a little bit of luck he could be a serviceable running back once again.
The only question is whether he will take the deal or not. Johnson has not proven to be the best decision maker in the past. It would not be surprising to see him do like another unemployed running back, Pierre Thomas, and torpedo the deal because wants more money.
Hopefully he'll realize that at this point he is better off getting his behind in to camp for league minimum, earning a roster spot, and then prove he still has what it takes to be a starter in the NFL (and get paid next year).
