Baylor Bears Set New School Record In Blowout Win Over SMU [VIDEO]

Durin the first quarter of Friday night's game between the Baylor Bears and SMU Mustangs it quickly became clear that this game had the makings of an action-packed, high scoring affair. Both teams aired it out early, and by the endof the quarter the score was 28-14. SMU's defense toughened up in the second quarter, but come the third the Bears offense woke up while the Mustangs went to sleep.

When they woke up they certainly did their best to make up for lost time.

Baylor outscored SMU 28-0 in the second half and wracked up some impressive numbers in the process. Between Seth Russell and Jarrett Stidham the Bears had 423 passing yards (and six passing touchdowns). Between Shock Linwood, Terance Williams, Devin Chafin, Russell, and Johnny Jefferson they tacked on another 300 on the ground (and two touchdowns).

With 56 points they took over the lead for most games with 50+ points since 2013 with 12. Oregon and Ohio State have 11 each.

With 723 yards of offense in 69 plays they set a new school record for yards per play in a single game with 10.5.
