Brent announced he was retiring again in May citing the totality of everything he had been through since that fateful night including his jail time, return to the game, keeping himself together, and providing support for Brown's daughter
“It is with careful consideration, much thought and reflection that I announce my retirement from the NFL,” Brent said then in a statement released by his agent, Peter Schaffer. “I have not taken this decision lightly, as my time in the NFL and as a member of the Dallas Cowboys has been the opportunity of a lifetime.
Before you curse the Cowboys for bringing him back into the organization keep in mind that he is helping support Brown's child. So don't consider it as the Cowboys doing him a favor, but the Cowboys doing Brown's daughter a favor.
