TCU May Have To Lean Heavily On Its Offense This Season [VIDEO]

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin had another epic game Saturday night when he lead the Horned Frogs against the SMU Mustangs. Boykin continued to make his case for the Heisman with 504 total yards (454 passing, 50 rushing) and six total touchdowns (five passing, one rushing) en route to a 56-37 win.

It's a great that he is able to generate so much offense because going forward the TCU defense may find it harder to shut people down.

Last season the Horned Frogs were known for running up the score with their offense, and shutting down opponents with their stifling defense. So far this season scoring points has not been an issue, but it is going to get even tougher to stop the other guys from scoring.

After the game head coach Gary Patterson announced that defensive back Ranthony Texada would miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Texada is the sixth defender the team has lost due to injury (or leave of absence) from last year's tremendous squad: safety Kenny Iloka (knee), linebacker Sammy Douglas (knee), linebacker Mike Freeze (leave of absence) defensive end James McFarland (toe) and defensive tackle Davion Pierson (head).

Pierson is the only one they expect to get back.
