WATCH: Florida State QB Everett Golson With The Pancake Block On Boston College Defender

Quarterbacks are meant to do a lot of things during a game. They pass the ball, they run the ball, they hand the ball to someone else to run, but you typically don't expect them to do one thing--block. That would require putting the body on the line and risking an injury that could knock a quarterback out of the game.

Yes, quarterbacks are football players too, so they should be able to handle a little contact, but how many times have we seen a quarterback throw a block or go for a tackle and leave the game with a hand/shoulder injury?

That didn't happen to Florida State's Everett Golson Friday night against Boston College. He was out in front of the runner and saw someone coming. So he waited for the guy to close before unloading on him.

The result? It was easily the pancake block of the game.
