Steelers Fans Calling For Team To Bring Back Former Kicker Jeff Reed--And He's Up For It!

Josh Scobee's house in Pittsburgh has probably been egged by now. After missing two field goals, which caused head coach Mike Tomlin to lose enough confidence in him not to have him attempt a 50-yard field goal, he is going to be persona non grata in Steel Town.

If the chatter on Twitter is any indication the fans are hoping the team will cut him loose and bring this guy back:

For those that are not aware, that is former Steelers kicker Jeff Reed. He was let go by the Steelers during the 2010 season, signed by the San Francisco 49ers for a few weeks before being let go, and spent a little time with the Seahawks during training camp for the 2011 season.

The last time he kicked in a meaningful game was back in 2010. While that would make it seem crazy to sign him he is only 36. Plenty of kickers have remained effective well into their 30's. So if the team wants him, he's game:

They won't of course, but look for the Steelers to bring in a few guys for workouts next week.
