When fans, players, and coaches get excited about a play it is not unusual to see them fist pump. Players in every sport have been known to do it as have their fans. It's pretty universal, and everyone has their own way to do it. However, it is also not unusual for fans to emulate something players and/or coaches do. It's another way of connecting with the team's larger than life personalities.
Rex Ryan is a larger than life personality, but it is safe to say that the Jets fans did not pick up on Ryan's style of fist pumping:
