Thanksgiving Day Football Video Highlights

Turkey Day brought us another great slate of games to enjoy with friends and family while we recovered from our self-induced turkey comas.

The Houston Texans and Detroit Lions ended up being more competitive than anyone would have guessed with the way Detroit has played this season. Dallas almost looked like they were ready to pull one out of their collective posteriors, but Robert Griffin III was not having it. Then there is the New York Jets--sigh. They kind of make you appreciate your own dysfunctional family, huh?

That's not to take away from the New England Patriots; they payed a masterful game. That's expected though. Then again I guess its expected for the Jets to do what they do as well.

Anyway...here are the four videos that I think people will be talking about most; at least until we get something else to talk about on Sunday:

Texas Longhorns Start New Turkey Day Rivalry on Wrong Foot

As a fan I appreciate garbage talk; it is entertaining. As a former player I think it is the worst thing a player can do. It takes nothing for someone to talk trash; no intelligence, no talent, and most importantly no class. That's what makes it sweet that the Longhorns lost after star defensive end Alex Okafor decided to talk smack to the Aggies.

In case you missed it, Okafor tweeted that he felt sorry for the Aggies since they don't have a big time game on Thanksgiving anymore. Hey, Alex--I think they'll take being home with the family on Thanskgiving and a BCS game over playing you guys any day.

Mark Sanchez--Oh You Just Have to Watch

The season has not gone well for the New York Jets. That's pretty easy to see. The game last night was especially indicative of that. No highlight shows that better than this one of Mark Sanchez:

If you want to see more highlights from that debacle of a game just check out this video.

Houston Texans Get Lucky

There is no telling how the game would have played out had this call not been botched. It almost makes you wonder why we wanted the real refs back so much over the replacements with errors like this one.

In all fairness though, the call could have been reversed had it not been for a new rule. Apparently a call can not be reviewed if a coach throws his flag when he shouldn't have--like when a call was going to be reviewed anyway. They say its delaying the game and the coach gets flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The only thing unsportsman-like about it is the fact that the right call can't be made because a coach pulls the red flag out by mistake. Let the game decide the game NFL; not petty, stupid things like this.

He might want to keep in mind that the NFL tried to suspend Ed Reed recently after he committed one nasty hit a year the last three years before next season's game.

Yes, I know I didn't include anything from the Dallas game. I didn't see any good highlights for the Redskins online and since the Cowboys lost yet again it didn't seem right to even look for one on them.
