I'm cool with Gangnam Style. I even dig a little Call Me Maybe every now and then. It is time for a new song to grasp the creative spirit of America though.
I just hope that it isn't this one.
A group of enterprising young Sacramento Kings fans that go by the name Bubblegum Bandits (OTB) thought that maybe if they channel their best Justin Beiber they might be able to help keep the team in Northern California. So they created this parody of the Beibster's hit song "Boyfriend" called "Hey Kings, Stay Kings."
Now there is no proof that these guys and the Beibster made a difference, but this video was posted to YouTube on January 21. Sure enough, on Friday the USAToday ran a story about a billionaire by the name of Ron Burkle meeting with David Stern for a couple hours.
Rumor has it that he and another gentleman, Mark Mastrov, could be putting in a competing bid with the purpose of keeping the team right where they are.
Let's recap--Beiber parody, four days later story about potential new owners and team not moving. Coincidence? I think not!
