More Super Bowl Commercials are Going Interactive

Madonna still likes to sing (still) about how we all live in a material world, and while the hit song from the 80s still rings true the world is much more than that these days--it's gone digital.

You name it and it can probably be done or at least found online. Companies know this. They also know that there are millions of internet capable devices out there with users just dying to make use of them. So why not encourage them to do so in the name of corporate profit?

Take the above commercial for Coke that is going to run in the Super Bowl (Everything PR). The company wants viewers to vote for who they want to win the chase to the big Coke bottle. There is actually a pretty good site set up (surprise! I think Coke might have a pretty good advertising budget) with a whole experience set up around the video and the characters in it.

Oh yeah--and you can vote for the ending that will show up in the final product during the game on February 3.

Coke is not the only company that is making the most of social media for its Super Bowl ad campaign. For the seventh year in row Doritos is holding a make-your-own commercial contest. The top five are currently available online for voting. The top two will be played during the game with the best one being awarded a cool million and the makers given a chance to work with Michael Bay on the next Transformers.

And you thought Facebook was just for updating your status...
