After previously committing to Clemson, the No. 1 recruit in the nation, 6-foot 5-inch 260 pound defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, has decided to give his Mom what she wanted all along. on the morning of National Signing Day he announced that he would be attending Ole Miss.
Robert had been courted by many of the top schools in the nation, but the pull of family appeared to sway his decision in the end:
"It was important for me to make a family decision. Those
are the people who raised me and have always cared about me and always have my
back.
"That was my parents dream, to see us play together.
Who wouldn't want to see their two sons playing together at the same school? I
feel like it's going to give them a chance to see us do some special things
together."
Robert is one of three five-star recruits for Ole Miss. The other two are on the other side of the ball; one at wide receiver (Laquon Treadwell) and the other on the offensive line (Laremy Tunsil). With much of National Signing Day still to go the Rebels are projected by Rivals.com to have the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation.
