Robert Griffin III Named Offensive Rookie of the Year

Often times whenever there is an award given out--it doesn't matter who or what for--there are some favorites and some dark horse candidates. That wasn't the case for the Offensive Rookie of the Year this past season.

Had any of the five candidates won the award fans of the others would have been angry, but they couldn't deny the stellar year that the winner.
Andre Luck broke the rookie passing record and transformed a broken franchise into a playoff contender.

Doug Martin gave Tampa Bay a running presence like they haven't had in years.

Alfred Morris is the definition of 'steal  of the draft' after rushing for over 1600 yards and being taken in the sixth round.

While Luck was considered to be in the mix the race was really down to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

In the end it was hard to deny a guy that only threw five interceptions as a rookie, passed for 3200 yards, ran for another 815, accounted for 27 touchdowns (20 passing, 7 rushing), earned a 102.4 QB rating, and was just an all-around bad a** this season.

I'm talking about Robert Griffin III of course.

Incidentally, RG3 is only the second player in NFL history to win the Heisman and become a Rookie of the Year winner the following year in the NFL.

Congratulations on a job well done Robert.
