Tim Doyle, who is an analysts for the Big 10 network, was critical of the refs that were involved in a controversial call during the Bulls/Nuggets game Monday while making an appearance on a discussion show, Sports Talk Live.
In the game, the refs called what appeared to be a basket goal tending against Chicago and the Bulls ended up loosing by two
Kendall Gill, who is the Comcast Sports Net analysts for the Bulls, did not like Doyle's comments and confronted him after the taping of the show. The confrontation escalated till it turned physical (including some shoving). At some point Gill took a swing at Doyle.
There was blood, but there has yet to be any word on whose or how it was drawn.
Needless to say, Gill has been suspended; it would be shocking to see him return. One of the great things about sports is that so much of what goes on is often left up to interpretation. There are few things where two people can watch and see two absolutely different things.
That's what makes sports so easy to debate. As a professional, Gill should have been able to handle himself regardless of what Doyle thought.
