Dallas Mavericks Pull Within a Game of Shaving Those Beards

It has not been an easy season for the Dallas Mavericks, but all the hard work could be paying off at the time when it matters most--a late season playoff run. As motivation they made a no-shave pledge early on pledging that they would not shave until they got back to .500.

That was a long time ago, and after many weeks, a little bit of discomfort, and just  a little bit of itching the Mavs are now within a game off breaking out the Bics and shaving those beards off!

The Mavericks had to take it to overtime against the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night, but when all was said and done Dallas came out on top 109-102 to improve to 35-36.
''We've fought an uphill battle all season long,'' said Dirk Nowitzki. ''Honestly, we're playing the best basketball we have all season. So we gotta keep this momentum going.''
While shaving will be nice what the team and its fans like even more is that the Mavs are now just a game from slipping into the playoffs as the No. 8 seed. After getting above .500 themselves, the Lakers have stumbled of late losing their last three.

At the same time the Mavericks have won their last three (and seven of their last ten) to pull within a game of making the post season for the 13th consecutive season.

The road to post season glory and shaving does not get any easier. Next up will be the Indiana Pacers on Thursday and the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.
