San Antonio Spurs Continue Home Dominance of Golden State

There is dominance like when Tim Duncan rejects shot and there is dominance like when the San Antonio Spurs beat the Golden State Warriors 104-93 at home Wednesday night.

Wait a minute! 104-93? That's not dominance; it's a solid win, yeah, but dominance--no.

That wasn't what I was talking about.



The win was the 29th consecutive time that the Warriors have come in to San Antonio an left with a loss, a streak that reaches back 16 years!

We're talking about a time when David Robinson was still relatively young, Tim Duncan was a rookie, and the BackStreet Boys were still boys.

Once again it was Tim Duncan that led the way with 25 points and 13 rebounds.

"My jump shot is coming back. It doesn't feel great, but it's going in a little bit, so I'll take it," said Duncan. "I feel healthy, my body feels good and the shots are going in."

The win improved their record to 52-16. Next up will be the Utah Jazz on Friday night at home. A win then will mean that the Spurs will have helped their in-state rivals, the Houston Rockets, out for two consecutive games.

Golden State now just has a one game lead on the Rockets for the No. 6 seed. A wi over the Jazz will help protect the Rockets from falling out of the post season race. Houston currently have a three game lead over the Jazz (who sin in 9th place in the West).
