Crazy Colts Fan - The World Could Use a Hero Like Blake Leeper

We all love heroes. We love the idea that someone can rise from the ashes, right wrongs, and fight for all that is good in the world. We dig the fact that someone geeky like Peter Parker or awkward like Clark Kent can overcome their shortcomings and be, well--super.

Now these guys did have super human abilities courtesy of an alien birthright and a radioactive spider to help them out....

But the concept is one that translates well to every day society. We love to hear stories about people that  can overcome and become larger than life. The problem is we often pick guys that are of questionable character.
Like Aaron Hernandez. Or Oscar Pistorius to name two.
In fact more and more these days it seems like we tend to take guys that do horrible or grievous wrongs of some kind (i.e Michael VIck). A look at the New England Patriots roster and you have to think that defense lawyers would be camping out at Gillette Stadium almost.
In some case many of these fallen heroes have repented and do deserve a second chance, and that is  good and fine. However, I can't help but wonder why we don't admire and lift up guys that are even more deserving and haven't needed a high-priced lawyer for anything.
Like Blake Leeper.
