Kobe Bryant and His Mom Settle Memorabilia Lawsuit

The lawsuit between Kobe Bryant and his parents concerning the sale of a ton of the jerseys, trophies, and other things he has collected over the course of his playing career has come to an end. For all intents and purposes it appears to have come to the most amicable conclusion possible.

According to a report on ESPN.com, Mom has apologized to Kobe and less than 10 percent of the items originally slated for auction will now be going up for sale.

His parents have released the following statement:
“We regret our actions and statements related to the Kobe Bryant auction memorabilia. We apologize for any misunderstanding and unintended pain we have caused our son and appreciate the financial support he has provided over the years...”
Kobe's mom was originally selling off a ton of the stuff he has collected over the years because she was upset that his in-laws were getting a bigger house than she was.

You hear horror stories about lottery winners having trouble dealing with friends and family after they win millions of dollars. It only stands to reason that athletes face the same kind of pressures.

Anyway...it's good to see that this suit didn't have to be played out. It was a shame that it had to exist in the first place, but at least the end result is okay.
