Oregon Ducks Best Defense Next Season Will Be There New Helmets

The Oregon Ducks were known far and wide for their offensive prowess last season. These guys would get out to some insane leads so fast in games that they could have put their scout team out on defense and still won. Not that the defense was bad; they were good in fact, but we never really got to find out how good since the offense basically dictated the pace of the game.

This year might be a little different though. Like every team they will have some turnover, but they will have it where it matters most in college--at head coach.

Maybe. Just maybe he could use a little help to make sure the Ducks continue their winning ways.

No--not the cheerleaders. They've always been hot. It's these horrid new helmets.

The team let a recruit for the 2015 class, Brady Bergan send a picture out of the helmets that the team is supposedly going to wear next season. Personally--I can't stand the chrome, but tack on the lime-green wings (I'm guessing) and I have to say that these things are so horrible that I can't take my eyes off of them.

And there is the help that the team will get.

I'm sure I will not be alone in my shock and awe of these garish and poor excuses for a major college football helmets. There is bound to be a defender or two that will be preoccupied with thinking about how ugly these things are and will have so much trouble taking their eyes off of them that they will be a good second or two slow off the ball.

Now this is not to say that they will need it. The team still has a host of quality players and Mark Helfrich has been with the team for the past four seasons as its offensive coordinator and QB coach. He's proven he is a capable coach in the past and likely will be a more than capable head coach.

But hey--if an opponent or two gets distracted by these helmets and the team gets a break or two I doubt anyone will complain!
