Yasiel Puig Makes History in First Five Games

I think it is safe to say that the latest call up by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Yasiel Puig, is as good as advertised.

Why? Because with his solo shot in the 6th inning of Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves he became just the second player since 1900 to hit four home runs in his first five games (Mike Jacobs doing it for the Mets in 2005 being the other one).

Now it was the only hit he got in the game so his batting average fell to .421 (slacker) when it was over .600 just a few days ago.

Eh--it had to come down sometime, right?

  1. These latin players are twice the size as their countrymen. Can't say I blame them; the money in American sports is just to good to pass up. So what if you have to serve a 50 game suspension if you can have a lifetime of riches rather than living in Cuba or some other third world country.
