Some will say yes, but others will point to losing the starting quarterback Casey Pachall a month into the season to rehab following a DUI arrest. To be fair, Trevone Boykin played well in his place beating teams like Baylor, Texas, and West Virginia and gave Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Michigan State all they could handle. In fact, he played well enough for Patterson to hold off on giving Pachall his job back.
When asked about his two signal callers he has yet to give any indication as to who he is leaning towards starting saying that it may remain in question till the team takes the field against LSU on August 31. He has not ruled using both either....

Last year was a nightmare for attrition. Fields did great but a month before the season started he was 3rd on depth but they had injuries making him 1st. 3 starters lost to drug sting which are now playing at other universities. Waymon James out by third game with ACL. Only position not effected was WR. So yes last year could have been great if not for things that happened. 70% of players on the field were Sophomores or freshman. This should be a good year with all that has come back but next year is a Championship team IMO.
