SMU Running Back Traylon Shead Nearly Suffers Harsh Injury After Getting Horse-Collared Down

In the third quarter of Friday's game against Texas Tech, SMU running back Traylon Shead went down with what looked like one heck of an injury. While trying to turn the corner on a run he was ridden down hard by a Texas Tech defender who dragged him down from behind (a horse collar tackle). In the process his left leg gets bent up underneath him.

You don't have to look at the clip to  see how much pain he is in. You can hear his screams.

Luckily, it appears to have sounded and looked worse than it was. Shead had to stay on the ground for awhile to receiver treatment, but in the end was able to get up and limp off on his own.

Texas Tech went on to win 41-23.
