'Sir' Charles Barkley is the best part of the NBA on TNT. The man is so blunt he is funny and can make the dullest of games sound entertaining at times. However, the absence of a filter finds most of what he says alienating someone while entertaining everyone else (at the expense of that someone).
His latest target--Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Barkley was on Waddle & Silvy, an ESPN Chicago radio show, and had this to say about Johnny Football:
“Hey listen, Johnny Manziel, he’s doing something that I never thought was possible. He’s going to make me root for Alabama this weekend. I thought I would never say those words. Johnny Manziel. I am so close to saying ‘Roll Tide’ — Johnny Manziel is annoying me so much that I am really close to saying ‘Roll Tide.’
They’re [Auburn fans] not going to be happy, but Johnny Manziel, oh my God, the only thing saving Johnny Manziel is Miley Cyrus. I mean, are you kidding me? That’s the only thing.
I just think that Johnny Manziel has done a lot of stupid stuff in the last three or four months.”Oh boy. I get that Barkley is an Auburn guy which makes it hard for him to cheer for Alabama--but Miley Cyrus?
Really?
Well, I can see folks taking this one of two ways. They will either laugh at it and take it as Barkley being the doofus that he is or they will rip him to shreds for being a hypocrite (because he's never done anything foolish) and comparing Johnny to the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana (yuck).
