Another day, another magazine cover for Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. This time around the young QB will be on the cover of Time. While his likeness is on the cover it does not appear as if he is going to be the focal point of the story; the controversial topic of paying players is (something Johnny's recent scandal put in the limelight).
I'll be interested to read the article, but this is an issue that I think will be hard to resolve. The amount of money that some universities make off of kids like Manziel is insane. At the same time, college athletics is supposed to be for amateur athletes.

Is there a solution to the problem? I don't know. Pay kids too much and you risk literally turning universities into NFL U. In many cases they already are, but if college players were to start being paid up front more and more kids will forget about their education
You know, that place they are suppose to be going to school for.
